possibly made in Staffordshire
This transfer-printed earthenware sauce boat was possibly made by Keeling and Company of Stoke-on-Trent in Staffordshire. It dates from the late 19th century.
The pattern is called 'KENT'. It consists of pink, transfer-printed poppies and leaves. The C-shaped handle has a thumb rest and is decorated with pink lines.
Keelings are still based in Stoke-on-Trent today. They are wholesalers of ceramics, bone china, pottery, crystal glass and fancy goods.
