RecordVirginals
VirginalsThis musical instrument is known as a virginal or viriginals. Its keys are made to pluck the strings rather than strike them, creating a sound similar to a harp. This is one of two surviving Scottish originals. The virginals are contained in a rectangular case of oak. The painted decorations on the case include a classical scene of unicorn, lion, elephant and peacock listening to the playing of Orpheus.
