A quart is a liquid measure equal to one quarter of a gallon. This bronze quart measure, dated 1 May 1707, was issued at Stirling after the Treaty of Union in 1707.

Standard English quart measure as issued after the Union of the Crowns, in bronze with crowns, `AR', a rose and a thistle on the side, dated 1 May 1707

Articles XVII and XXI of the Treaty of Union of 1707 stated that 'the same weights and measures shall be used throughout the United Kingdom, as are established in England'. However, the old Scots measures continued to be used well into the 19th century.
