Finger ring; disc with swivelling ringThis bronze finger ring and bronze disc with a swivelling ring were found at Forfar in Angus and at Seamill Fort in Ayrshire. Both were probably used as amulets sometime between 100 BC and 200 AD. Both objects have triskele designs, a shape which seems to have had religious significance over many centuries. Magic and superstition were an integral part of everyday life. The number three has long had a magical and religious significance.
