A station brake is a closed vehicle with luggage space on the roof. This horse-drawn station brake was made around 1885 by Mulliner of Birmingham, a well-known maker of a range of horsedrawn vehicles. While station brakes were originally developed for use as railway station buses - this one likely to have been a privately owned, family bus. It is pictured outside Royal Museum in Edinburgh.
