probably made in Edinburgh
This chair was designed by the architect Robert Lorimer for his own house, Gibliston in Fife, and probably made by Whytock & Reid of Edinburgh in around 1916. It is based upon 17th-century chair forms and incorporates a Bible drawer. Originally it would have had a cushion.
