ChainThis bronze chain was found around the neck of a woman buried under a round mound at Ackergill in Caithness sometime between 600 and 875. The incomplete chain is made of small bronze links. The adoption of Christianity in Scotland was gradual. Many areas remained non-Christian in their traditions for some time.
