This is the obverse of a copper turner minted in Edinburgh between 1629 and 1631, during the reign of Charles I. The coin was worth two pence Scots.

The obverse has a thistle. The Latin inscription translates as: 'Charles, by the Grace of God, [King of] Great Britain'.
