This is the obverse of a Spainish silver dollar of Charles III used as token coinage by the Galston Friendly Society in Ayrshire. The token dates from the early 19th century.
The obverse is counter-stamped 'Galston Friendly Society'.
Counter-stamped dollars were captured foreign coins, counter-stamped and re-issued to make up for the shortage of British official coinage.
