RevolverThis Enfield No. 2 Mk I* .38" calibre revolver was manufactured in 1942 at the Albion Motor Works in Glasgow. A six-shot revolver in .38 calibre, this example has plastic grips - which are thumb-grooved on both sides, enabling the pistol to be held in either the left or right hand. Its hammer is modified to prevent it catching on clothing. During World War II, part of the Albion Motor Works' output was turned over to producing these standard British service revolvers. At the height of production in early 1943, Albion workers were manufacturing 679 of these Enfield No.2 revolvers each week. Albion workers' houses were amongst those damaged and destroyed during German air attacks on industrial Clydeside in 1942. Record detailsTo search on related items, click any linked text below.
