This model of an elephant was made in 1902 at Seaton Pottery in Aberdeen. The elephant is inscribed 'Father's Tobacco 1902' and was probably used as a tobacco jar.
Modelled from cream-coloured earthenware, the elephant is decorated with 'dabbed' coloured glazes.
Seaton Pottery operated between 1868 and 1964 and left a wealth of distinctive wares.
