Bronze cauldronThis bronze cauldron was found at Awhirk in Wigtownshire. It was made sometime between 100 BC and 200 AD. The cauldron was made by beating a single sheet of bronze. It is unfinished. Feasting was one form of conspicuous consumption, designed to show off the power, wealth and status of the giver.
