Printed funeral invitation

This printed funeral invitation, dated 1739, refers to the funeral of John White. The invitation, issued by the deceased's nephew James White, states that the body will be interred at Grayfriars Churchyard in Edinburgh.

The invitation is a printed circular with an engraved border.

Printed funeral invitations survive from the 17th century, but most invitations were handwritten.
