Puzzle jugThis earthenware puzzle jug was made around 1836 by Musselburgh Pottery in Midlothian. The jug has a pierced upper body and a lower body painted with a band of polychrome flowers. The base is marked `10th October 1836 P J Muss`. From 1750 onwards, large-scale potteries were established on the south side of the Firth of Forth, at Prestonpans, Prestongrange, West Pans, Musselburgh and Portobello.
