Communion cupThis pewter communion cup is from Newlands Relief Kirk in Peeblesshire. It dates from 1795. The bowl of the cup is almost straight-sided. The inscription reads 'Newlands Relief Kirk 1795'. In the 18th century many congregations broke away from the established church on points of principle, mainly concerning choice and appointment of ministers.
