MeasureThis pewter measure for one Imperial pint was made in England in the first half of the 16th century. The baluster measure has a thumb-piece and a lid with four small circular stamps. Pewter was commonly used for measures and drinking vessels as it was both fairly cheap and strong enough to stand up to to the rigours of tavern life.
