This glass bottle for medicinal tablets is one of a collection of bottles and stoppers found in a rubbish dump near Tulliallan Castle in Kincardine in Fife. The bottle dates from the 19th century.

The bottle has 'Dr Cassell's Tablets' moulded on the front.

In Victorian times, advertising grew and was used by manufacturers as a way of appealing to their customers. Brand goods were developed and certain types of container were recycled. These included bottles which were a useful means of advertising products.
