Scarf, by Sarah SumsionThis silk scarf with longitudinal strips and fringed ends was made by the artist Sarah Sumsion in 1986. The design was inspired by a bunch of violas, black pansies, wallflowers and honesty. The scarf formed part of the Scottish Crafts Collection, which was transferred to the National Museums of Scotland when the Scottish Craft Council was wound up. Scarf, of silk with an ikat and dip dyed warp, longitudinal stripes and fringed ends: Scottish, Sarah Sumsion, 1986 Sarah Sumsion was born in London in 1935, and now lives and work in Argyll and Bute.
