Candlestick

This glass candlestick was designed by Timo Sarpaneva in 1978 and made in 1979 by the Iittala Glassworks in Finland.

The candlestick is made of clear colourless glass, moulded with radiating crackled flutes. The design is called 'Bolero'.

The Finnish glass industry has employed some of the most distinguished artists of the last three decades. Timo Sarpaneva, born 1926, trained in graphics and has worked with the Iittala Glassworks since 1950. His other interests include the design of textiles, ceramics and even candles.
