Vase

This pale purple glass vase was designed in 1957 by Gunnar Ander and made in 1960 by A.B. Lindshammars Glasbruk of Milletorp in Sweden.

The vase has a spherical bowl with a narrow mouth, a long thin cylindrical stem and a circular foot.

Since the end of World War II, the national design organisations of Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark have collaborated with joint exhibitions and prizes to promote modern functional design. This resulted in a characteristic 'Scandinavian Style' which was a major influence on world taste.
