Jug

This maiolica jug was made was made in Northern Lazio in Italy, possibly in the Viterbo area, between 1275 and 1425. It is entirely reconstructed from pieces that were found, according to the Milanese vendor, 'in houses of Piano Scarano and Canino, small villages near Viterbo'.

The jug is covered with greyish tin-glaze and painted in manganese purple and green with borders of network, lines and guilloche.
