Communion cupsThis pair of silver communion cups are from Greyfriars' Kirk in Edinburgh. Made by Edinburgh silversmith John Wardlaw in 1644, the cups are of a similar type made for Greyfriars in 1633-5 by Thomas Cleghorne, also of Edinburgh. The cups have deep bowls and circular stems with central knops. Opened on Christmas Day 1620, Greyfriars' Kirk was one of the first three Scottish post-Reformation churches.
