Fragments of a glass bottleThese fragments from the body of a glass bottle were found at Torwoodlee in Selkirkshire. They are from a Roman object which found its way to a native site sometime between 80 and 200 AD. Portions of vessels of bluish-green glass, from Torwoodlee, Selkirkshire Powerful local chieftains controlled contact with the Romans, keeping most of the Roman objects and passing some onto their followers.
