Coin (Obverse), two merk piece, from reign of Charles IIThis is the obverse of a silver two merk piece minted in Edinburgh in 1675, during the reign of Charles II. The coin was worth 26 shillings and eight pence Scots. The obverse bears a portrait of the king with the letter 'F' below. The Latin inscription translates as: 'Charles II, by the Grace of God '.
