Coin die, for Charles II half-dollars (Reverse)This iron coin die is for striking the reverse of Charles II silver half-dollars. It was made at the Scottish Mint in Edinburgh in 1681. The die has cruciform crowned shields featuring the national emblems of Scotland, England, Ireland and France. There are interlinked 'C's in the centre and thistles in the angles.
