RecordStrap junction< 1 of 1 > Back From Traprain Law, East Lothian
Strap junctionThis bronze strap junction was found at the site of the native hillfort at Traprain Law in East Lothian. It was used on a harness sometime during the first two centuries AD. The strap junction has two loops at the back. It was crudely made, and is now in poor condition, with a very pitted surface. Leather on harnesses rarely survives, but the metal fittings and ornaments are often preserved. Strap junctions come in many forms, some quite elaborate and decorative.
