PendantThis bronze pendant was found at the site of the Roman fort at Newstead in Roxburghshire. It was probably hung from a harness sometime between 80 and 180 AD. The pendant is in the shape of a crescent moon, with one end incomplete. Some pendants hung from Roman harnesses are purely decorative, but others, like this one, may have also been used as an amulet.
