Fashion plate, from La Mode IllustreéThis hand-coloured fashion plate is from La Mode Illustreé, a fashion magazine published in Paris. Dating from around 1872, the plate is signed, 'Bonnard'. It illustrates two day dresses. The dress on the left has an elaborate train, trimmed with lace. The outfits are from, 'Mme FLADRY, 43. rue Richer'. La Mode Illustreé first appeared in 1860 and was one of the most important fashion magazines of the second half of the nineteenth century.
